Welcome to NEMRA - Join us on 145.450 Thursdays at 8 p.m. for our ARES NET.

Field Day 2008
Mississippi Visitors Center
Itawamba County

Hello and welcome to the NorthEast Mississippi Radio Amateurs (NEMRA) website. Our club is now 6 years old, active and growing the group is made up of amateur radio operators from Itawamba County and the surrounding area of northeast Mississippi and west Alabama. We are a diverse group with member interests covering about all areas of amateur radio operations. Such as dx, contests, cw, ssb, satellites, field day and APRS to list a few. We came together for public service, in support of the local area in times of emergency, the expansion of amateur radio, and the support of the Itawamba County 2 meter repeater. This repeater operates on 145.450 mhz and is toned 192.8 encode/decode. We also now own and support a repeater in the Tupelo area, this repeater uses the frequency of 147.075 with the encode/decode tone of 103.5. These repeaters are open for use by any licensed amateur radio operator. All we ask when your using our repeaters is that you please be courteous, respectful, and follow all rules as set by the FCC.

Our regular monthly meeting is held the second Tuesday night of every month at Comer's Restaurant on old highway 78 in Dorsey, MS for fun and business. We arrive at 6 pm to eat and eyeball qso with the meeting starting at 7 pm or there about. After the business session our meetings usually include a program which will last about 15 minutes covering a topic related to ham radio. All amateurs and non amateurs that have an interest are invited to come out and join us.

Our group is active in ARES and currently holds the weekly Itawamba County ARES net on Thursday nights at 8 o’clock local time on the 145.450 repeater. Once again all amateurs are encouraged and welcome to join this net. We completed the requirements and received our ARRL affiliation just over one year ago, as well as having an active ARRL Volunteer Examiner team that hold test sessions one time per calendar quarter. These sessions are handicap accessible and walkins are welcome. Most of our group works with and supports the local Skywarn network thru the local practice nets and during severe weather.

At this time we would like to invite you to join us for fun, fellowship and sometimes serious work in the world of amateur or ham radio. Even if you’re not a licensed ham, a member of another club or just passing thru the area and want to see what’s going on with our bunch please feel free to join us at one of our meetings or club activities any time. Our thing is about sharing our enjoyment of the hobby with any and all that will give us the opportunity.
